Norman E. Lindsley

January 11, 1949 — December 4, 2022

Norman E. Lindsley, 73, of Harlowton, died Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Norman Eugene “Gene” Lindsley was born on January 11, 1949 in Big Timber, Montana, the son of Delbert and Evelyn Lindsley. The third oldest son of four children, Gene attended the Lode School and graduated from Harlowton High School in 1968.

He joined the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam where he was injured and received the Purple Heart. Due to the extent of his injuries he spent about a year in the VA Hospital. Upon his release he moved to Seattle where he worked for a glass company for two years before returning to Harlowton. Once he returned home, Gene worked for Beley Ford and did some faming and raised a small herd of cows. He loved hunting and fishing but more than anything, Gene loved his cows!

Gene was extremely generous. He never knew an enemy. He was a friend to everyone he met and was willing to do anything he could to help someone in need. He never had children of his own but loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his oldest brother Roger Lindsley; youngest brother Jerry (Sandy) Lindsley; older sister Judy (John) Crowley; six nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; two great-great nieces; and numerous cousins.

Gene, we want to thank you for your service to your country, for your unending generosity, your huge heart, your sparkling smile, and your one-of-a-kind laugh that only your brothers can top!
