Francis “Frank” A. Hutton, a resident of Harlowton, MT and a retired Marine died September 16, 2022.
Frank is survived by his 3 children, George (Kathleen) Hutton of Schenectady, NY. His loving daughter Maryann E. Wagner of Harlowton and Joseph F. Hutton of FL. He is also survived by a grandson, Matthew F. Wagner of FL.
Frank is predeceased by the love of his life Rita Olson, his parents Francis and Irene
(Bradley) Hutton and his brothers Bradley and John Hutton.
Frank was born on August 18, 1934 in Upper Darby, PA to Francis and Irene Hutton. He graduated from Draper High School in Schenectady, NY in 1952. During his high school years, he worked for Western Union delivering telegrams on his bicycle. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country for 20 years. He was in Marine Corps Aviation (Electronics) which took him to airfields (Korea, Vietnam) abroad and at home in the United States.
In 1984 he left the big city and moved to Harlowton, MT to work at the Cornerstone Restaurant, After the Cornerstone he went to work Midtown Market where he developed a lifelong friendship with Beth Keating. Frank was appointed to the Conservation District by the Mayor and became good friends with Cheryl Miller. For 22 years he counted votes as an Election Judge alongside of his dear friend, Mary Miller. He even worked with bees for a season.
Frank volunteered for many things in is adopted community. He was on the Harlowton City Council, the City of Harlowton Study Commission. He was a pineapple, an Easter Bunny, and a pig kisser, but the most cherished of all, he was Santa Claus. He played Santa Claus to thousands of children with a twinkle in his eye and always a smile on his face.
Frank enjoyed traveling with his love, Rita. He loved visiting with his many friends (Dave, Murph, Harry and Renee to name a few) over a beer or 2. He loved reading and listening to Frank Sinatra, loudly. He loved his dog and his Cat. Frank will be deeply missed by his friends, his loving family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is planned for 1:00 p.m. on October 22nd, 2022 at Perkins Funeral Home in Harlowton, MT. A celebration of his life will follow at the Oasis Bar in Harlowton.
