Dawn Marie Dick (Peters), 71, of Harlowton, MT, passed away on October 29th, 2023, in her home surrounded by her husband and children.
Dawn was born February 26, 1952 in Ann Arbor, MI the daughter of George H. and Betty Peters.
Dawn graduated from Billings West High School. She then went on to earn a degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan. Dawn returned to Montana and taught music in Richey, MT where she met her husband, Darrel.
Dawn married Darrel Dick on May 22, 1976 in Richey, MT. They were happily married for 47 years. Darrel and Dawn made their home in Harlowton, MT where they lived very rich lives surrounded by their five children and 16 grandchildren.
Dawn was a lifelong learner and had many interests and hobbies including: music, teaching, quilting, gardening, knitting, crafting, and reading. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and investing in each of their interests. She absolutely shined as a grandma. She was the kind of grandma who got down on the floor with her grandkids and played with them. She always had a fun and creative idea of something special to do with each one of them. She was excited about what the kids were excited about.
Dawn was creative, a dreamer, up for anything, adventurous, and championed other people. She exuded joy with her bright smile. She loved conversation and talking with people. She noticed and valued those on the fringes. She shared Jesus and served others wholeheartedly.
Dawn loved Jesus with all her heart and was a dedicated volunteer and integral part of her church community at Harlowton Faith Chapel where she played piano, organ, directed choirs, led kids ministries, directed plays, and served wherever she could.
Dawn has been a pillar in her family and community of faith. Her children often remember finding her in her chair with her Bible in her lap. She was a diligent prayer warrior, always praying for the needs of others in her family and community.
Her family is profoundly grateful for the hope of heaven, that she is no longer in pain, and that they will someday see her again. Despite the unimaginable circumstances, Dawn's unwavering faith was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. She has left a legacy of deep faith and selfless love that will continue to impact generations to come.
Remaining to cherish Dawn's memory are her husband, Darrel Dick; children, Ryan (Anita) Dick, Danielle (Andrew) Christofferson, Bryce (Lindsay) Dick, Bethelle (Cody) Schuchard, and Caleb (Danielle) Dick, and 16 grandchildren; mother, Betty Peters; brothers, Allen, Leonard, and Phillip; sisters, Allyson, Stephanie, and Loré.
