Timothy Gerald (Remo) Willis 49, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2018 in the presence of family at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT. Tim was born on April 12, 1969, to Gerald and Bonnie (Moore) Willis in Greybull, WY where his parents were teaching at the time. After a few short years of teaching in Wyoming, Bonnie, Gary, and Tim moved back to Bonnie’s childhood home and family ranch in Two Dot, Montana. Tim then started Kindergarten at the Two Dot School, where he was quick to meet many lifetime friends. After sixth grade, he then transferred to the big school of Harlowton where he would finish out his high school career. Tim’s childhood was filled with the great outdoors, weekend card games, his beloved pets, a bit of mischief, and anything he could find that went fast. Especially if it only involved two wheels.
Once Tim graduated from Harlowton High School, he attended Glendive Community College. He majored in Criminal Justice, however his true fondness while there was for bareback riding. After college, while back home helping out his childhood friends at the Martin Ranch, Tim met Cindy Asleson. The two dated, fell in love, and got married. Though later divorcing, Tim would always say his love for her remained.
Tim then moved around from place to place, finding things that made him happy. He was a free spirit that wanted to see all that this world had to offer. He ranched and logged in Monarch, mined in Gillette, worked Construction in Jackson Hole, but always managed to come back to the one place that made him truly happy; his childhood home in Two Dot. Once home for good, Tim split his time between ranching and running heavy equipment. Many people believed he was the best heavy equipment operator they had ever seen, and they weren’t wrong.
Tim was a bit of a nomad, never wanting to be caught in one place. He sought adventure at every turn in life, and usually found it. He was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider, an accomplished heavy equipment operator, an avid outdoorsman, a fine hunting guide, and one heck of a barbecue cook. He would proudly don his Two Dot pool league shirt labeled “Remo” on the back, the baseball cap that he had made in memory of his mother Bonnie, and his favorite apron, and barbecue with Nick and Rick at many special occasions, including his favorite; the Two Dot Street Dance. He was a proud volunteer at the Two Dot Fire Department, and he lived to help friends and family at every opportunity. Tim had the heart of a giant, just in a Moore sized frame. He will be missed dearly by many friends and family.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Bonnie (Moore) Willis, and baby brother Jack Marvyn Willis.
He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins from both the Willis and Moore families, as well as Jennifer, Rick, Patty, Ray, and all of his friends and loved ones at the Two Dot Bar.
A memorial for Tim will be held at The Two Dot Bar and Grill in Two Dot, MT on the evening of January 26th. A potluck dinner will be held at 5 p.m., and friends and family will share a few words and stories in remembrance of Tim shortly after.
Contributions in Tim’s name can be sent to the Two Dot Fire Hall, and will be used to help buy a new Fire Truck for the community or the charity of their choice and they may be left with the Perkins Funeral Home, PO Box 313 Harlowton, MT 59036. Condolences for the family may be posted on-line at www.perkinsfuneralandcremation.com
