Robert “Bob” Brown, 78, of Harlowton, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 surrounded by family. Bob was born in Kalispell, MT on April 7, 1938 the son of Robert H. and Leonida (Krause) Brown. He was united in marriage to Mary Wanquist on November 13, 1981, they were married 35 years.

Bob worked in the family owned business, Browns Ranch Supply until the business sold. He retired from the Montana National Guard in 1998 completing 30 years’ service. He enjoyed woodworking and was actively involved in the Upper Musselshell Historical Society museum and American Legion Post #15 of Harlowton.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary of Harlowton; son Scott (Kathy) Smith of Laurel, MT, daughter Lydia (Steve) Besaw of Ogden, UT; step-children Bonnie (Alan) VanBuskirk of Henderson, MN, Jeanne Wallace (Dirk Korn) of Billings, MT, Vickie Gallo of Sheridan, MT, Mary Kaercher of Fort Peck, MT, Sue (Jay) McKinney of Shakopee, MN, Julie (Jim) Bergstrom of Chaska, MN, Nancy (Roger) Dvorak of Shakopee, MN, Mike Wanquist of Federal Way, WA, Joan (Johnny) Taber of Shawmut, MT. 29 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and honorary daughter Sheila (Rick) Matye of Great Falls, MT.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother and nephew.

Inurnment with military honors will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in the Harlowton Cemetery. Memorial Services for Robert C. “Bob” Brown will be 11:00 am at the Harlowton Youth Center. Cremation has taken place. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Lutheran Church, Upper Musselshell Historical Society, the Wheatland Memorial Healthcare or the charity of your choice and may be sent to Perkins Funeral Home, PO Box 313, Harlowton, MT 59036.
