     Mary Pearl Lode 85 of Harlowton passed away on Saturday, Oct 24, 2020 at Wheatland Memorial Healthcare. Mary Pearl was born on Jan 19, 1935 in Lewistown, MT to Howard C. & Pearl (Harrah) Beerman, the fourth of five children. The family moved to Power, MT, where Mary Pearl graduated from high school in 1953.

     After receiving a Degree in Elementary Education from the College of Great Falls, she taught in Augusta and then in Harlowton. While teaching in Harlowton, she met & married Henry (Bud) Lode. They raised three children, Russell, David, & Mary (Mia).

     Mary Pearl taught music in Two Dot and Shawmut; she wrote & directed the school musical programs. She taught at the Harlowton Play Center for many years.

     Bud & Mary Pearl formed a band, the Lode Orchestra, and play for dances all over central Montana. Mary Pearl also was a pianist for the Musselshell Mudcats; she played in the Kiwanis Show for over 50 years.

     Mary Pearl was an active member of the Moose Lodge in Harlowton as well as a recent member of the hospital guild.

     After retiring from teaching, she drove to 7 different nursing homes in the area and entertained the residents with her honky-tonk music. She also enjoyed playing the piano at the Wheatland County Senior Citizen's Center.

     Mary Pearl is survived by her children, Russell (Bonny) Lode, David Lode, and Mia Lode, all of Harlowton. Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren, Brad Lode & Robyn Lode, both of Harlowton and 8 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren plus many adoring nieces & nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Lawrence (Harriet) Beerman, Allen (Lorna) Beerman, sister Evelyn (Kenny) Trick and Gracia (Ev) Creek.

   Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
