Lauretta Colvin Berg 80 of Martinsdale died Sunday morning December 16th, 2018 as a result of smoke inhalation received in a fire in her home. She was born May 6, 1938 at home in King County, Washington the daughter of Webb E. & Ruth V. (Smedley) Colvin. They lived several places where she received her education, graduating from Charlo High School in 1956. She then attended Teachers College in Dillon receiving her teaching certificate. She moved to Martinsdale and taught at the Martinsdale School. This is where she met Byron L. Berg and they were united in marriage on June 13, 1959 in Ronan, MT. They raised their family and ranched near Martinsdale and she would substitute teach when needed.

Lauretta enjoyed writing, riding horses, the outdoors, taking her grandchildren on nature walks and teaching them about the flowers, animals and all things in nature.

\She was a Champion Barrel Racer in 1958 and was a 45 year Hunter Safety Instructor.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsdale and later American Lutheran Church in Harlowton, Meagher County Cowbells, Martinsdale Mavericks, Martinsdale What Not Club and the Wheatland County Stockgrowers Association.

She is survived by her children sons Larry (Roxanne) of Judith Gap, MT, Keith (Amy) of Helena, MT, daughters Norma (Greg) Clements of Big Piney, WY and Sandra (Trent) Woldstad of Harlowton, MT; one brother Dallas Colvin of Jordan, MT; one sister Leila Roberts of Charlo, MT; 7 grandsons Trent, Trevor, K.C., Cole, Beau, Garret, Coulter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister Eileen Montgomery.

Funeral Services for Lauretta Berg will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the American Lutheran Church in Harlowton with committal to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery. The Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
