Geraldine L. Jones 82 of Harlowton died early Friday morning, November 16th, 2018 in Wheatland Memorial Healthcare of natural causes with her family by her side. She was born February 27, 1936 in Harlowton the daughter of Harry and Diana (Teen) M. (VanderSloot) VanDerVoort. She received her education in several places settling in Ryegate where she graduated from Ryegate High School in 1954. She remembers growing up in a large very close-knit family and has vivid memories of living in a sheep wagon and cooking in a cave while her Dad herded sheep. On July 21, 1954 she was united in marriage to James Hagberg in Ryegate. They lived in Ryegate and then moved to Harlowton where they raised their family. She worked for many years at Harlowton Gardens, she loved working with the flowers and was very good at it.   She later worked at the A G Grocery and then the Town Pump. In 1985 they divorced and she continued living in Harlowton. She was united in marriage to Gordon Jones on March 8, 1987 in Harlowton. They built the current home they live in from used materials they got from tearing down the old lumber yard in Harlowton. They continued to live and work in Harlowton. She was injured in an accident leading to her early retirement and several surgeries. They spent 18 years traveling to Arizona during the winter, returning to Harlowton in the summers.

She enjoyed taking her kids and grandchildren to early morning yard sales to find treasures. She crocheted afghans for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flower garden, traveling and square dancing.

She was a member of the Timber Trippers Square Dance Club and the Crazy Mountain Car Club.

She is survived by her husband Gordon of Harlowton; son Terry (Yvonne) Hagberg of Ryegate, MT; daughters Kristi (Dan) Hogemark of Big Timber, MT and Roxie (Jim) Hogemark of Springdale, MT; step-son Ted (Stevie) Jones of Martinsdale, MT; step-daughter Melanie (Ed) Schott of Stanford, MT; brother Harry (Rosie) VanDerVoort of Glendon, Alberta, Canada; sister Sandra Trippe of Potomac, MT; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Geraldine L. Jones will be Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Perkins Chapel with committal to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery, cremation has taken place. The Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
