Lucille L. Cameron 81 of Harlowton passed away Monday evening, February 5th, 2018 in the Wheatland Memorial Healthcare of natural causes. She was born November 13, 1936 in Napoleon, ND the daughter of Lewis and Nellie (Tergeson) Schuchard. Her Father was killed at the end of WWII. The family moved to Harlowton and she graduated from Harlowton High School in 1957. On May 25, 1957 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Cameron and they made their home in Martinsdale area. During that time she cooked for hunters and guiding services in the Belt Mountains. They divorced in 1973 and she moved back to Harlowton. She worked as a dietary aide at Wheatland Memorial Healthcare, later as a clerk at Bains Department Store and then 8 years as a dispatcher for the Wheatland County Sheriff’s Department. In 1976 her son Randy was born. She retired in the early 1980’s.
Lucille enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Martinsdale Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, cooking, walks in the moonlight after a snowfall and working with animals. She has also baked many Christmas cookies and wonderful loaves of bread. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She was the most wonderful grandma and friend to them. It has also been said she was the favorite aunt to many of her nieces and nephews. Lucille was always happy and had a smile on her face, even while in pain and sickness.
She is a member of the American Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Post #115 of the American Legion in Harlowton.
She is survived by her son Randy (Megan) of Harlowton, MT; brothers Vernon Schuchard and Norman (Sally) Schuchard both of Harlowton, MT and Duane (Shirley) Schuchard of Billings, MT; two grandchildren Cadence and Carter and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Services for Lucille L. Cameron will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 17th, 2018 at the American Lutheran Church with committal to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery. After a luncheon will be served in the Faith Center at the church. Cremation has taken place at her request; the Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
