Mary M. Griffith 90 of Harlowton passed away September 10, 2013 in Wheatland Memorial Healthcare of cancer. She was born August 18, 1923 in a homestead near Harlowton the daughter of Remko and Elsie (Van Der Weerd) Muller. She received her education in Harlowton graduating from Harlowton High School in 1941.

She then attended and completed Butte Business College in Butte, MT. She worked in Butte at the Poore Law Firm for seven years until returning to Harlowton. On March 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Homer K. Griffith in Butte, MT. They purchased a ranch south of Harlowton where they lived and raised their family. She was an active ranch wife, taking care of the children, doing chores on the ranch and helping where she could with the children, ranch and in the community. In 1981 they built a log home on their ranch where she lived until the 2001 when she moved into Harlowton.

Mary enjoyed playing cards, cooking for family dinners, setting up birthday parties, drives in the country looking at the livestock, her flowers and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and participating in all of their events.

She was a member of the Federated Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens all of Harlowton and for many years was active as a 4-H Leader.

She is survived by two sons Robert (Emily) of Moorcroft, WY and Sam of Harlowton, MT; four daughters Janet (Keith) Hill, Atha (Clint) Stagner and Lorna (Bill) Theriault all of Harlowton and Joan Griffith of Elko, NV; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Homer in 1994, one daughter Judy Freestad in 2010, one granddaughter Shiloh Theriault in 2006, four sister and her parents.

Memorial Services for Mary M. Griffith will be Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Federated Church in Harlowton with inurnment to follow in the Harlowton Cemetery, cremation has taken place.
The Perkins Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
